CANCELLED Game of Logging Level 1

“Please be advised that, due to insufficient registration, Cornell Cooperative Extension Of Warren County will be cancelling the Game Of Logging workshops which were scheduled from Wednesday September 20^th through Friday September 22^nd. We apologize for the inconvenience and we hope to resume this programming next spring.”

Game of Logging Level 1 course will focus on introducing the participant to open face felling and to develop techniques to safely fall a tree. Topics include: personal protective equipment, chainsaw safety features, chainsaw reactive forces, bore cutting, pre-planning the fell, and understanding hinge wood strength.

In the past, we have subsidized the training to reduce costs. Unfortunately, we are not able to do that currently. The cost for each workshop is $160.00 per person per course. Payment must be made by July 12th in order to remain registered for the course.

Participants must bring all safety gear including chaps, helmet, eye and ear protection, and boots (preferably with safety toe). Participants must also bring a gas-powered chainsaw, and fuel and oil to run it. Classes meet at 7:30 am to sign in and then begin at 8:00 am sharp. Expect the classes to go until 5:30 pm.

The location for the July classes will be held on the property of Barb Galusha, 157 Goodman Road in Johnsburg, NY. We do need a minimum of 6 people per course to be able to run the workshops. In the event that we have to cancel due to low registration, a full refund will be issued. Any participants canceling after September 13th will be refunded all but $60 of the cost.
